Chaplain Program

The Reedley Police Chaplain Division began in August 1996 and offers guidance and assistance to people in crisis situations. It also serves as a link of communication between people in crises and their own spiritual advisors.

The primary objectives and purpose of the Police Chaplain program is to provide Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) services, counseling, assistance and spiritual guidance. The Police Chaplains stand ready to respond twenty four hours a day. Police Chaplains provide emergency counseling in a pastoral role and do not attempt to replace individual clergy or mental health professional representatives. While the Police Chaplains wear a uniform, they are not a police officer. Police Chaplains working this past year cared for the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our staff, their families and members of the public who desire their services.
