We know time is of the essence for your project, so our General Plan and Municipal Code have been orchestrated to efficiently guide building. Our current planning processes have been carefully designed to effectively and consistently apply our City’s policies to your proposed development project.

The Division is committed to the development of goals and guiding principles to promote quality, clarity and consistency in processing and approval of entitlement applications.

Another significant role of our planners is to act as your liaison. Each staff member is empowered to take appropriate action, be proactive, use common sense, and to be problem-solvers. We are charged with the responsibility of shepherding through the review and approval process special permits.

The Planning staff also serves at the pleasure of the Planning Commission which provides oversight and has approval authority over various entitlement applications. The Planning Commission meets on the first and third Thursday of each month. The Planning Commission Agendas are posted online at Planning Commission Government Meetings.
