Reedley Kendo Club

 

Reedley Kendo (Japanese fencing) Dojo usually holds classes at Reedley College.

 

Kendo is most familiar to the American audiences through the Star Wars movies; the laser fight scenes used actors trained at Kendo Dojos.  Reedley Dojo has been in existence since 1983 and is an active member of the Central California Kendo Federation.  The emphasis in this class is fun while doing a rigorous physical activity and also being introduced to Japanese culture.  Young and old of both genders are encouraged to attend.  Persons who take out a membership in the federation are eligible to participate in tournaments, seminars and other international events.

Typical cost is $15 for the class and $40 for equipment.
